Guangzhou Customs’s Exhibion of Anti-drug Abuse on International Drug Day

26 June, 2009 was the first anniversary of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Narcotics Control and the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking when a large-scale exhibition of promoting anti-drug campaign was held by Guangzhou Customs. The exhibition was the largest in recent years with area up to 1200 ㎡. Leaders such as Liang Weifa, Standing Committee and Secretary of the Committee of Political Science and Law of Guangdong Province; Zhang Guifang, Standing Committee of Guangzhou and Secretary of the Committee of Political Science and Law of Guangzhou came to the exhibition and expressed their satisfaction with the anti-narcotics work.

The public learned more knowledge of the drugs and anti-drugs from the exhibition which displayed national laws related to drugs; knowledge of drugs and its harmfulness; recent achievement of drug fight including nine types of drugs seized by Customs, such as heroin, cocain, ice, marijuana, Ecstasy, methaqualone, Ketamine, Nexus, and Erimin5 which was a new type of drug displayed to the public for the first time; 20 types of tools for drug possession such as refrigeratory, fastener, toy, wood, laptop etc. The most attractive case was that one hid a kilo drugs inside the body and the drug was finally eliminated from the body for more than ten days. Drug detector dogs’ marvelous acting during the exhibition attracted many citizens who praised the exhibition was so good that more measures should be adopted to prevent drug abuse.

26 June, 2009 was the 22nd Internationl Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which is to boost people all over the world to raise awareness of anti-drug and to fight with drugs in a joint effort. This year’s theme in China is anti-drug by law and building the harmony.

Leaders of Guangzhou Customs believed that through this exhibitoin of anti-drug abuse, the image of its organ has been enhanced and expressed their satisfaction with the work by Success PR.
